Little did I know how important that guitar would be in my life! I moved around a lot but took guitar lessons whenever I could and also learned from every other source available--books, tapes, and friends. Eventually I began playing guitar and singing in clubs and coffeehouses and for special events. People started asking me if I could teach them to "play like that." Giving guitar lessons was a natural next step, and I discovered that I love to teach. I have been giving guitar lessons in Fort Collins since 1996. I offer friendly, no-pressure, private guitar lessons for beginning and intermediate students, helping them find direction and then customizing their guitar lessons to meet their individual goals. Because of my experience in performing, one of my strengths is teaching how to accompany vocals; I am always interested in hearing new songs and arranging them for solo or closet performing. Or if your goal is just to have some fun playing guitar, I teach different strum and fingerpick styles; scales and music theory to help you play "by ear"; different musical genres, such as folk, blues, rock, or country; and guitar tablature for learning a specific arrangement.
